My mom and I started this blog as I love to cook and come up with new recipes. I plan on studying to become a chef and hopefully one day own my own hotel. I am the only child to a single mother. We both started this blog.

Pick n Pay shopping haul

Being a single mom one of my favorite places to shop is Pick N Pay not only because their prices are affordable but they also have a good rewards programme. Every time you shop you swipe your pick n Pay card and get points on to your card which you can convert to money back onto your card and get money off your grocery bill but you also choose to convert it to either get a movie ticket and other things. With me being a single mom and life being hard every little bit of saving helps.

Save our beloved Country

Who would have thought in the beginning of this year that my country South Africa would have a new president so soon into the New Year.

While I don’t know much about politics, I do know enough to know our country needed it as times are really tough.

I sort of feel sorry for him as I feel he has a huge mess to clean up. He really has a tough job ahead of him but I believe hr can do it.

I believe that our country still needs a lot of prayers as the economy is really bad and Jobs are scarce.

I am currently having to look for a job as my position is being made redundant and I won’t lie, I have never found it so difficult for every 100 jobs you apply for you are lucky to get one call.

Then you go for that interview and you must somehow stand out above all the other applicants. I saw one job where it showed 940 people had already applied.

Our country really needs prayers and so does our new president Cyril Ramaphosa. I pray that he leads our country in the right direction.

With Christmas around the corner and everyone is getting in the mood of celebrating by singing their favorite Christmas carols and thus is one of our favorite Christmas songs which has been done by many people and we hope our version stands out above the rest.

If you could Travel Anywhere in the World Where would you go?.

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go?.

I know I would need to do a round the world trip because I have so many places I would love to go too and can not choose..

I would love to go to America because I have a lot of friends there but also there are so many places I want to go and see.

I would love to go to the Greek islands because I was meant to go there when I was younger with my sister but the trip had to be cancelled because my sister was going to be in a play.So we cut our trip in Grease short only for the play to be cancelled.

I think I would also love to go to China and see The Great Wall of China. I have always wanted to see it.

I have also always wanted to go to the Clearwater Marine Park in America and see Hope the Dolphin from the Movie Dolphin Tale.

There is just so much to see in this beautiful world of ours.

George the Gnome

All of us have childhood memories some good some bad one of my best memories came from my grandma.

She pretended that there was a gnome family in our garden. I don’t remember how it started but I know my sister got to the point where she was writing to George the gnome everyday and everyday she would get a reply.

Then one day there were floods in Durban the city in South Africa that we grew up in. My gran took this opportunity to tell us that George the Gnome and his family had to move because there home was destroyed in the flood boy was I heartbroken.

It was only years later that she admitted to us she was George the Gnome and that she had to put an end to it because of all the damn letter writing. It was getting to much. I always told her she traumatised me.

We really believed there was a gnome family in our garden but when she did that she left us with an incredible childhood memory that we will never forget.

Week Action – Make a Small Resolution

We normally make resolutions at the beginning of the year and never stick to them. My mom and I have given up on doing Resolutions at the beginning of the year but we thought we can make a small exercise resolution.

This week do yourself and your health or body a favor and make a small exercise resolution.

When it comes to Resolutions especially ones to do with exercise we often make the goal too big, like ” Go to Gym everyday”, or “run a marathon”. Then when we have a small slip up we feel like we have failed and we give up so easily.

Even if your goal is not too get fit still make a small resolution to do a little bit of extra movement each day. If you do it now it would be 18 times weekly and 126 times daily until the end of the year.
Here are a few easy and popular ones:.

-Always take the stairs where possible

– Stand up at work

– Always stretch before you go to sleep

– Use your car less and walk more

-At the shops park your car far from the entrance.

– Walk on the spot when ads come on, on T.V

We plan to walk more and at the same time take pictures for our blog.
